In pursuit of the Millennium Development Goals, the Drylands Development Centre for the Arab States works in partnership with governments, civil society actors, private sector and other UN Agencies to address issues of natural resource management and poverty alleviation. DDC-AS fosters partnership with a number of bilateral donors, particularly with the EU countries. DDC-AS focuses its efforts to leverage its catalytic funding in the programme countries for effective UNCCD implementation. Please refer to the following link for the DDC Global Website / partners: http://www.undp.org/drylands/partners.htm As part of in-house joint forces, Drylands Development Centre for the Arab States collaborates closely with the Sub-Regional Resource Facility (SURF-AS) and UNDP's Bureau for Development Policy (BDP) delivering integrated policy support across several practice areas such as energy & environment, poverty and governance practices. DDC-AS contributes frequently to the Environmentally Sustainable Development Group's work.
